Here are a few tips for using the template:

• The boxes have been aligned pixel by pixel so if you decide to move them or change the size or if you accidentally move them, they may not print perfectly.
• You will need to clip your photos in the boxes. Here is a Photoshop tutorial for clipping. For Elements, in the layers panel add the photo above the box you want to clip it to then select the photo and press Cntl+G to group it with the box.
• You can use can change the colors of the boxes to coordinate with your theme by double clicking the shape box in the layer palette and choosing a new color.

I was looking at the templates in Poster Pro Quick Kit Vol5 and in the Idea Zone template 6 of 9 it was the swimming one how did you do that one? Was the one picture in the lower right corner a cut out? It looks like she had a white glow around her. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Photoshop Formula:

• This photo was extracted from the background using the extraction tool tutorial here
• Then an outer glow 38px and a drop shadow at 38 px was added
• On the top menu click Layer>Layer Style>Outer Glow…
• Change the size to 38 px or whatever you feel looks best.
• Click on the little yellow box and change the color to #ffffff (white)
• Next click Layer>Layer Style>Drop Shadow… change the Size to 38px
• Change Distance to 0px
• Change Opacity to 100% and leave everything else as it is. See settings below

You can create a similar glow with Elements using the following settings:

• Select the layer with the extracted person
• Then click on the top menu Layer>Layer Style>Style Settings…
• Click the triangle next to glow then put a check mark in the box that says Glow
• Put a check mark in the box that says “Outer”
• Change the size to about 38 px or whatever looks good
• Then click the yellow box and change it to white #ffffff you can also change the opacity to 100% if you want

Hockey is a sport near and dear to me because my boys played hockey for many years. My camera and skills were not as good then as they are now but below is what I created for my son who was about 8 years old in these pictures and is now 16. He played many positions including a season or 2 of goalie and this was from the goalie time period.

I hope you can get creative with this set and show me your masterpieces!

Question: I’m a real estate photographer, do you have any templates that would help me enhance any of my photos?

Answer: The first one that pops into my mind is the “beautiful home” magazine cover here.

One trend I’ve noticed in Real Estate photography is the use of HDR techniques in the photos that show the house. Have you considered enhancing your photos with Topaz Adjust? This would put you a step above the competition.

Here is a photography company that consistently does something like this, they call it “Enhanced Lighting Compression”.  I can give you a few suggestions to do this yourself.

Formula:

1. Always save a back up of the original image or make new layer that won’t be used.
2. Start with a quality photo. Below is a snap shot I took with my Nikon COOLPIX s610 at a model home in Phoenix, Az. I used natural lighting with no flash.
3. Enhance the photo by removing noise and fixing the exposure by watching this 3 part tutorial series.
4. Run Topaz Adjust’s “Dramatic” filter. Reduce the strength to about .89 and tweak as needed.
5. If the image has any noise,  run landscape noise reduction again.
6. Final Tip: Always post your photos around 1024px on the largest side, people should not have to struggle to see the images. Also try to reduce any room clutter.
