I was working on some photos I did for a shelter fund raiser and I stumbled upon this fun formula that I wanted to share with you.

For this formula you need the following ingredients: Totally Rad Actions 2 – The Revenge.

• Open the photo you want to work on in photoshop. Do all your normal corrections and adjustments to the photo.
• Run “Highlight Separator” from TRA 2
• Run “Shadow Separator” from TRA 2
• Run “Claire-ify” from TRA 2
• Move Claire-ify layer to top of layers panel
• Run “Burn-out” TRA 2 – turn off all layers in Burn-out except Extreme Burnt Edges.
• Raise the opacity of Extreme Burnt Edges layer to 100%
• Optional: add a mask the the Highlight Separator layer and mask Santa’s face so that all of the flaws do not show.

For this formula you need the following ingredients: Topaz Adjust, TRA 1 Actions, TRA 2 Actions.

Photoshop Formula:

• Open the photo you want to work on in Photoshop
• Run the Topaz Adjust filter – Dramatic
• Run the TRA 1 - Daily Grind Action “Boutwell’s Magic Glasses”.
• Run the TRA 2 Action “Lux (hard)” – turn off the “tone curve” layer.

Photoshop Formula:

1. Extract your main color photo. Use this tutorial if you need help.
2. Add a Layer Style “Outer Glow” to the extracted player in white, 75% opacity, 0% Spread, 32 px size.
3. Open the photo you want to use in the background and run “Detroit” from Totally Rad Action 2 – The Revenge
4. In the Detroit (B&W) folder turn off the “Toning” and “High-Pass Contrast” layers.
5. Add a Levels Adjustment Layer and adjust until you are satisfied.
6. Open Quick Poster Vol 8
7. Drag in the background layer where it says “YOUR PHOTO HERE” then drag in your extracted player.
8. Customize following the Quick Poster Vol 8 tutorials.

Imagenomic’s Portraiture

Formula:

1. Totally Rad – Pool Party change opacity to 20%
2. Totally Rad – Grandma’s Tap Shoes change opacity to 20%
3. Select-O-Sharp on hair, eyes, lips and tattoo
4. On the main baby layer run Portraiture Normal Mask and change opacity to 50%
5. Flatten layers
6. Add image to Magazine Cover Vol 4
7. Duplicate the baby layer then use the background Eraser tool in Photoshop to make hair and face of baby go over Magazine name. Here is a good tutorial on the background eraser tool from Mama Shan.
8. Create the “love ya, Josh” text with Jane Austin Font from Dafont.com.

Formula: Totally Rad Actions

1. Bitchin B&W 100% {from TRA1 – Color Blind v1.2a}
2. Rusty Cage 100% {from TRA1 – Caffeine Jolt V1.2}
3. Move Rusty Cage Layer above Bitchin B&W Layer
4. Add a Hue/Saturation Layer above all layers at Saturation +50

For the photo below I used a formula that I used with the wedding couple last week. Here is that formula again.

1. TRA SX-70 {from the TRA1 – Caffeine Jolt v1.2}
2. Turned off the layer called “SX-70 Softness”

So here is how I did it…

I ran the TRA SX-70 action from the TRA1 – Caffeine Jolt v1.2. I turned off the layer called “SX-70 Softness”. That’s it! Easy!
